The Oceania Riviera combines an elegant, spacious ambience with Oceania Cruises’ signature focus on fine dining, personalised service and destination-focused cruises. Launched in 2012, the ship is around 239 metres long and can accommodate approximately 1,250 guests. As such, the Riviera offers a wide selection of restaurants and public areas, whilst remaining considerably more intimate than large resort ships.
The suites and cabins are elegantly and comfortably designed. The range extends from inside and outside cabins, through Veranda staterooms and concierge-level accommodation, to spacious penthouse, Oceania, Vista and Owners Suites. A very high proportion of the outside cabins feature a private veranda.
There is a particular focus on the culinary experience. In the Grand Dining Room, guests can enjoy a varied international cuisine. The French-inspired Jacques, the Italian Toscana, the Asian Red Ginger and the classic steakhouse Polo Grill each offer different specialities. The dining options are complemented by, amongst others, the Terrace Café, Waves Grill, Baristas and other casual venues for meals and quick breaks throughout the day.
A special feature of the Riviera is the Culinary Centre. In the professionally equipped cookery school, guests can get hands-on and, under expert guidance, learn about various dishes and cooking techniques. Creative courses and workshops are also offered in the Artist Loft.
The Aquamar Spa + Vitality Centre provides relaxation with its range of wellness and treatment options, as well as a fitness area. The pool deck features a swimming pool, hot tubs and various sunbathing areas. Quieter retreats can be found in the library and the various lounges, amongst other places.
In the evening, there is live music, shows, bars and a variety of events on offer. With its large windows, the Horizons offers sweeping views across the sea. The entertainment programme remains deliberately understated overall and fits in with the ship’s calm, leisure-oriented character.
The Riviera is suitable for both classic cruises and longer, destination-focused voyages. Rather than large-scale leisure attractions, the focus is on fine dining, comfortable lounges, personalised service and the travel experience itself.
Conclusion: Ideal for connoisseurs, couples and discerning cruise guests who prefer a wide culinary selection, personalised service and an elegant, relaxed on-board life on a ship of manageable size.
